Parish Committees

Parish Council

The purpose of the Parish Council is:

   1.  to operate all property of St. Patrick's parish
   2.  to authorize and supervise all parish activities and organizations
   3.  to assist the Pastor of the parish in the discharges of his spiritual duties

The Parish Council meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month.

Liturgy Committee

The Liturgy Committee, under the supervision of the Pastor, shall be charged with the responsibility of preparation for and celebration of all liturgical functions of the parish. 

The Liturgy Committee will plan, prepare, implement and evaluate the many different functions of the liturgical year that is celebrated in the Eucharist and outside the Eucharist here at St. Patrick's community. 

The Liturgy Committee provides on going support and communication to the many different ministries that are liturgical life of our parish family.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee shall be responsible for the collection and auditing of all parish funds.

The Finance Committee shall provide input and support on the annual tithing renewal program.

The Finance Committee works with the Pastor to set the parish budget for the up-coming year and presents the proposed budget to the Parish Council for endorsement before the beginning of each fiscal year. 

Building and Grounds Committee

The Buildings and Grounds Committee has as its responsibility the care of our parish properties, including the parish cemetery.  The Committee will periodically present a prioritized list of needs to the parish council with recommendations for action.

Members of the Buildings and Grounds Committee shall include the parish maintenance person, the sexton of the parish cemetery, at least one Parish Council member, at least one additional member of the parish, and a member of the finance committee.  Membership on the committee will be determined by the parish council.

The Buildings and Grounds Committee may propose policies regarding parish properties to the parish council.

Religious Formation Committee

The Religious Formation Committee shall have the responsibility of supervision of all religious formation programs in the parish.

The Religious Formation Committee has the task of planning and implementing the various classes and programs that are a part of the Faith Formation program. 

The Religious Formation Committee is spear headed by the Pastor, Faith Formation Co-ordinator with various volunteer members that help to make this program a spiritual learning experience for our youth and adults.

Welcoming Committee

The Welcoming Committee shall be responsible for serving refreshments after weekend masses.  The committee will determine when this is to be done.

The Welcoming Committee will also visit newcomers in the parish and present to them information on parish services and opportunities for involvement at St. Patrick's.

The Welcoming Committee will also sponsor welcoming events for newcomers and for the Chadron State College Community.  Parish potlucks will be scheduled periodically at which newcomers are special guests.  Weekend events will welcome the CSC community.

Peace and Justice Committee

The Peace and Justice Committee shall have the responsibility of continuing our ministry to those mission programs which are a regular part of our mission outreach.  This will include informing the parish of these missions and keeping abreast of any helpful information. 

This committee will also have the responsibility of staying abreast of other developments, locally and in the area, that might be in need of our assistance.
